History of the Studio
The school was started 3 years ago by Julie Harper.She was doing a favour for a friend who was looking for dance lessons for her daughter.From that day the word spread and sunflower Dance Studios was created.
Julie started dancing at the age of 3 as her mother owned a dance school in Yorkshire,England.She continued dancing throughout her adult life,gaining her teaching qualifications along the way.
18 months ago i arrived in Fuerteventura and Julie approached me to help teach the children.
I started dancing when i was 10 years old in a small town in Derbyshire,England.I was keen to be a teacher when i grew up so my dance teacher allowed me to help whenever possible.My best friend owns the school now and i worked for her until i moved here to Corralejo.I am qualified to teach I S T D and B A T D in ballet,tap and modern dance,and acrobatics.All of which i hold classes at the dance studio.
July 2007 Julies mother sent an SOS for Julie to go back to England to help her run her dance school.Hence why Julie is now running Ibberson Dance School in England and im running Sunflower Studios here in Fuerteventura.
Julie always said''If one day you are feeling sad,the kids will put the smile back on your face'' They certainly do.

After our very successful show in dec 2008''You Are The Music In Me''a few changes were made.
Miss Julie Harper,founder of the school and myself (Miss Linzie)decidedon a take over of the school.Julie has alot of commitments in England ,making it impossible for her to take time out for the school here in Fuerteventura,so i myself have taken the school on and will run it solo.slightly changing the name to Sunflower Dance Studios.
I hope you will continue with the support you have shown the school in the last 4 years.thankyou Miss Linzie.
